Kernow Tattoo Centre - General Tips when getting a Tattoo

GET WHAT YOU WANT, NOT WHAT YOU CAN AFFORD
Many people set themselves a budget and go for second or third choice when getting a tattoo. If you can’t afford what you want on the day, save up until you can it will be worth it in the end.

Don’t settle for second best just because you can’t wait.

TATTOOS ARE PERMANENT, RELATIONSHIPS OFTEN AREN’T
The most common cover up is the wrong name.

LOOK TEN TIMES, TATTOO ONCE
The more preparation, thought and effort you put into getting your tattoo the better the end result will be.

DOES IT HURT?
The answer to this is dependent on each individual, as everyone has a different tolerance for pain. How much you feel it will depend on a number of factors, such as placement on the body - the more nerve endings there are the more you will feel it.

The real big secret to an easy tattoo is relax. The more you tense up the more you will feel it and the more you feel it the more you tense up and so on and so on.

Anyone who is having a tattoo will go into a mild state of shock so if you haven’t eaten for a while then you will feel it more. The same applies if you’re hung over or over tired.

IF IN DOUBT, SHOUT!
If you do feel unwell, it’s best to say so at once rather than keep quiet and pass out. A quick break is then all that is needed rather than you passing out and taking much longer to recover.

SIT STILL
It’s harder to hit a moving target. Imagine trying to draw something on a ship in a rough sea and think what to end result will look like.

THINGS WE WON’T TATTOO
Public skin i.e. hands, neck, and faces.
Anyone who appears to be under eighteen and without ID.

If you are sunburnt, pregnant, unwashed, under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs or expecting something for nothing. Please come back when you are not.
